Code of Conduct

1. Purpose

Casa Palestina is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for all visitors, staff, artists, and partners. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected within our space and during all associated activities.

3. Scope

This Code applies to:

  • Visitors and participants

  • Staff and volunteers

  • Artists, performers, and speakers

  • Partners, contractors, and collaborators

  • Both on-site and off-site events, including digital platforms

4. Expected Behaviour

All individuals are expected to:

  • Treat others with dignity, courtesy, and respect

  • Engage constructively in cultural dialogue and exchange

  • Respect cultural differences and avoid discriminatory language or actions

  • Follow instructions from staff and event organisers

  • Use facilities responsibly and respectfully

  • Comply with applicable local, national, and EU laws

5. Unacceptable Behaviour

The following will not be tolerated:

  • Discrimination or harassment based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or age

  • Verbal, physical, or sexual harassment or intimidation

  • Hate speech or incitement to violence

  • Disruptive behaviour that interferes with events or operations

  • Damage to property or cultural works

  • Unauthorised recording or distribution of content where prohibited

  • Any illegal activity

6. Accessibility and Inclusion

We strive to:

  • Provide accessible facilities and programming

  • Accommodate diverse needs wherever reasonably possible

  • Promote equitable participation across communities

7. Safeguarding and Well-being

  • The Centre prioritises the protection of minors and vulnerable individuals

  • Any safeguarding concerns must be reported immediately to staff

  • Substance abuse or behaviour that threatens safety is prohibited

8. Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness misconduct:

  • Inform a staff member or designated contact person

  • Reports can be made confidentially where possible

  • All reports will be taken seriously and handled promptly

9. Enforcement

Violations of this Code may result in:

  • Verbal warning

  • Removal from the premises or event

  • Suspension or banning from future activities

  • Notification of authorities where necessary

10. Data Protection & Privacy

  • Personal data will be handled in accordance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

  • Respect others’ privacy when sharing information or media

11. Commitment

By entering or participating in activities at Casa Palestina, all individuals agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.

12. Review and Updates

This Code will be reviewed periodically to reflect evolving standards, legal requirements, and community needs.
