Introduction to Tatreez: Traditional Palestinian Embroidery

Join us for an engaging introduction to tatreez, the traditional embroidery of Palestine. In this workshop, participants will learn foundational stitches, explore the rich symbolism behind classic motifs, and gain insight into how this art form reflects identity, memory, and a deep connection to place.

Taught by Aliya Beyhum, a curatorial researcher specializing in Arab heritage and material culture. Her work focuses on Arab dress and textiles, and she holds an MPhil in Heritage Studies from the University of Cambridge. Her dissertation examined the relationship between tatreez and Palestinian national identity.

No prior experience is necessary.

We are offering two separate sessions:
• Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 PM
• Saturday, May 16 at 11:00 AM
